SOMETHING OLD…De-Stress Your Wedding Planning!

March 9th, 2010

This week we’re bringing you tips from  the experts on how to de-stress your wedding planning process by focusing on four age-old tips for staying sane.
DMPJ3
BREATHE & RELAX
At times it is the most obvious and simple of things that we neglect when we’re stressing, like sleeping and eating.  The huge amounts of “To Do’s” become more important to us than our self-rejuvenation, inner peace, and communication with our loved ones.  So what do we do?

Learn to simplify and DELEGATE!!  Also remember to take care of yourself.  Breathe: it is a beautiful way to calm your nervous system, center your concentration, and help you relax.  Exercise: even if only for ten minutes at a time, exercise relaxes and recharges energy and a positive outlook.
DMPJ4
INTENTION
Intention is how you create the experiences in your life as you move toward your goals.  So ask yourself, “What is my intention for my wedding?”   Remembering what is truly important to you will help you relax and focus on those important aspects of planning your wedding.

GRATITUDE
With work responsibilities and family and wedding planning all swirling around in your mind, you may temporarily forget the gift of love and tDMPJ5he motivation and reasons for your marriage.

Showing gratitude is a way to remember the good in your life right now.  Think of these positive things daily to refocus on the beautiful aspects of your life, such as the fact that you have found someone who wants to love you and share their life with you, as well as friends and family who want to be a part of your life and wedding day.

LOVE
Love opens your heart to many experiences, including the adventure of marriage and the challenge of giving and receiving support in the accomplishing of yours and your future husband’s or wife’s dreams and goals.  “Love pushes us through boundaries, judgments and limitations that restrict DMPJ6us.  Love pushes us to expand… it is said by some that love is the universal healer.  Allow yourself to let love in at those times when this is the last choice you want to make.” Dr. Rev. Elizabeth Frumin.

By keeping in mind “something old” in these four age-old tips while planning your wedding, you will remember to keep it simple and enjoy the planning process as well as the wedding day!

~ Special thanks to Dr. Rev. Elizabeth Frumin, Weddings With Heart, for her contributions to this article!

MONTH OF LOVE SPECIAL EDITION #4: Perfecting Your Wedding ~ Floral Artistry!

February 28th, 2010

HasEBSEA1n’t February been an exciting month??  Especially if you have recently become engaged to the person you want to share your life with!!  Bridal Workbooks and our wedding experts have covered almost all the basic components of planning your wedding in the February “Month of Love” special edition featured articles!   Our goal is to keep you within your budget by being creative and unique in your approach to designing and fulfilling your wedding dreams.  While you still have many details to work out, the final “Month of Love” article features one of the most important aspects of your wedding décor: floral artistry.  This gorgeous artwork eEBSEA2nhances the exquisite beauty of the beginning of your life together.  Floral features unify your theme and add unique flavor to personalize your ceremony and venue.

We’ve once again gone to the experts and are bringing the advice you’ve come to trust and expect from the Bridal Workbooks’

Floral artistEBSEA5ry is one of the most beautiful aspects of a wedding celebration.  According to Tanya Davis of Elements in Bloom, a featured wedding professional in the Seattle Wedding Workbook, below is a list of four points a client should consider when deciding upon a floral designer:

Style: View a professional’s portfolio for their style of design.  Choose a designer whose artistic style matches your preferred wedding style or a vendor that you feel will be able to execute and interpret your wedding style.

Reviews: Always check out reviews from other wedding vendors and past clients when researching which floral artist to use to create your vision.  Reviews and recommends help you to make an informed decision about a vendor before hiring them.  You need to know you are able to rely on a vendor even after they’ve received your deposit.EBSEA4

Personality: Make sure you feel comfortable with a vendor.  Based on your initial interview, do you feel a tendency toward friendship with the vendor?  Your wedding is an extremely personal occasion and it is important to choose a vendor you feel would appreciate sharing this experience with you.

Price: Bridal Workbooks LOVES to emphasize this point:  ASK QUESTIONS!!  Many different aspects factor into the pricing of floral designs, so don’t hesitate to ask your artist about prices.  You have a budget and a true professional will strive to help you create your vision within that budget.  Also remember to always ask about promotions and specials that an artist may be running.

Month of Love: Creating Your Dream Reception!

February 18th, 2010
Bridal Workbooks’ third Month of Love feature will help you create your picture perfect wedding reception!!  The best part of this week’s post is that Bridal Workbooks will show you exactly how to create your dream reception within your budget!

The three tips below all revolve around PLANNING!!   Bridal Workbooks has made a fabulous plethora of worksheets, time lines,  calendars, and interview questions that enable you to choose wedding professionals that will create your vision!

TIP #1:  Choosing Your Venue.
Wedding venues vary in size and cost.  If you’re looking to save in these economical times, why not consBARcptnider a less expensive venue and add equipment and/or decor that produce a beautiful ambiance?  Here’s an idea: special effects lighting to enhance the beauty of the venue.

Remember to consider the size of your venue.  Take into account everything: the number of wedding guests, the area needed for the band or dj, the size of the dance floor, the location of the wedding cake, etc.  Carefully planning out what you need before booking a venue will ensure a beautiful reception!

TIP #2:  The Power of Questions.
Never be afraid to ask questions!  Making an uninformed decision leads to unnecessary stress, loss of money, and regrets during and after your wedding.  A quality wedding professional will be able to answer each of your questions, as DMPJRcptnwell as bring attention to issues you not may have considered.  Asking questions gives you the confidence of knowing exactly what to expect from your wedding professional and their services.  If you interview a vendor who is unable to answer your questions or is vague, move on!  Always go with professionals that “see” your vision and want to make it happen!  For top-notch wedding professionals, check out Bridal Workbooks’ recommended vendors!

TIP #3:  Take Advantage of Specials, Promotions, Events, Etc.
Make sure to check out your favorite blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and websites that offer exclusive savings on top-quality vendors.  Make sure you check out special months, like February and December!  Valentine’s Day specials are all over the place this month!  Also, many wedding professionals offer special deals with confirmed, advance bookings and coupons at the time of your appointment.

Do you feel equipped to take your wedding dreams and make them a reality?  Check out our website and workbooks for more suggestions and interview questions, as well as deals from Bridal Workbooks’ recommended wedding professionals in your city!

Mineral Make-Up for your wedding!

February 9th, 2010

It’s so important for women to realize that they are not “stuck” with the face they were born with. Once taught how to apply makeup properly, some simple color rules and how to achieve certain looks women become their own makeup artists … which is how it should be.

jilladair cosmetics

The creator behind Jilladair Cosmetics feels that they should earn your business.  They work hard for your loyalty by teaching you how to use makeup, showing you how to get those looks you have always dreamed of and always putting you first when it come to quality and price.

Jilladair’s favorite thing to do is to get to know her new clients on the phone and through email while never seeing a photo of them. This way she gets to know who they truly are on the inside. Then she asks them to come to her studio without any makeup on. It is then that she creates on the outside what matches their inside. The most “perfect” moments in her career are when she turns the chair toward the mirror and her clients see the beauty they have created internally for all the world to see.

“If you have the courage to show your before … then you’ll never be afraid of anything after.”
